Updates on Home Visitations and Resident Absences
On May 20, 2021, the provincial government released Roadmap to Reopen, a three-step plan to safely reopen the province and lift public health measures.
In response to the release of this plan and to support residents living in care communities, the Ministry of Long-Term Care is introducing a gradual, staged resumption of general visiting. We recognize and value the role that families, friends and visitors have in providing caregiving and emotional supports. These supports are vital to meeting the needs and enriching the lives of residents living in our care communities.
We are delighted to inform you that effective June 9, 2021, we will begin welcoming back general visitors to our care communities. Further to this, residents who are fully immunized will now be able to leave the care community for social and temporary absences.
